The Liability Convention

The Liability Convention of 1972 implements and elaborates the concept of liability for damage caused by space activities already established under the Outer Space Treaty.
Whether governmental, international or private/commercial, if space activities cause damage to third parties this convention is the primary tool for determining who is liable to whom, under what circumstances and to what extent. No sensible actor in outer space would disregard this convention as it may result in severe financial consequences.
